Ginger Snaps

A pair of fingerless mittens with a folded 2×2 rib cuff and lozenge-shaped cables at the centre. The cables are filled with an elongated seed stitch, and edged with snaking columns of rib. The palm is knitted in plain stocking-stitch, whilst a shaped thumb gusset mimics the contours of the hand and is finished with seed stitch.

Quince & Co. Finch (100% American wool, 202m/221yd per 50g hank)
1 hank each in shades Aleutian, Audoin & Barolo.

This is a 4-ply weight lurex yarn

Gauge

26 stitches and 38 rows = 10 cm/4″ in Stocking Stitch in the round
Tension was achieved using size 3.5mm/US4 needles

Equipment

  • Your preferred needle type for knitting small circumferences in the round

  • 3.5mm/US4 knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Below-gauge-size knitting needles

  • Tapestry needle

  • Embroidery scissors

Sizing

This pattern is multi-sized for 3 adult sizes, to fit hand circumference 17 (19, 21) cm / 6¾ (7½, 8¼)”
