Sagittate

Sagittate is a fun cowl knit in a bold geometric lace. It knits up quickly, and will add a bright pop to any outfit! Sagittate features a textured lace stitch pattern with a shape resembling resembles arrow heads. It’s knit in the round using a gorgeous hand-dyed merino sport-weight yarn. Choose your favourite colour, and enjoy knitting the three simple stitch textures: garter stitch, rib, and lace.

Yarn

Sport-weight yarn

Featured Yarn:The Urban Purl Merino Sporty (100% merino wool, 262m/287yd per 100g hank)
1 hank in shade Hot Gossip

The featured yarn is a hand-dyed sport-weight Merino wool which is tightly spun with lots of bounce. You could substitute a DK or fingering-weight yarn instead of the sport-weight. When knit to the specified gauge, fingering-weight yarn would produce a drapier cowl; whereas DK would be more robust.

Gauge

25 stitches & 38 rows = 10cm/4″ in stocking stitch in the round
Tension was achieved using size 3.25mm/US3 needles

Equipment

  • Your preferred needle type for knitting small circumferences in the round

  • 3.25mm/US3 knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Tapestry needle
