Brandy Butter

A comfortable beanie hat with a folded ribbed brim and gorgeous trimmings. Cast on using a sparkly lurex yarn, and top it off with a large pompom. At the centre is a twisted diamond cable motif, framed by columns of 2×2 rib. The back is worked in plain stocking stitch.

Worsted-weight wool

Featured Yarn: Quince & Co. Lark (100% American wool, 123m/134yd per 50g hank) in shades Aleutian, Audoin & Barolo.

Rico Creative Lamé (38% Polyamide, 62% Polyester, 135m/25g ball) in Gold.
This is a 4-ply weight lurex yarn used held double, since worsted-weight sparkly yarn can be harder to source


19 stitches and 27 rows = 10 cm/4″ in Stocking Stitch in the round
Tension was achieved using size 5mm/US8 needles


  • Your preferred needle type for knitting small circumferences in the round

  • 5mm/US8 knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge

  • Below-gauge-size knitting needles

  • Tapestry needle

  • Embroidery scissors
