2 stretchy cast-ons for flexible knitting
Stretchy cast on knitting tutorial

The Cable Cast-On and the Old Norwegian Cast-On (aka German Twisted Cast-On) are my two favourite stretchy cast ons for flexible knitted edges. This knitting tutorial demonstrates how to work these two stretchy COs in depth. The video covers:

  • How to work each cast-on
  • Comparing how the edges look when with both flat knitting, and knitting in the round
  • How much yarn length is needed to work each cast-on
  • A comparison of the two techniques, suggesting the best uses in different knitted items and stitch patterns
